Performance Physical Therapy has been serving the Stockbridge community for years. Over a year ago, we partnered HPRC Physical Therapy and we are now changing our name. Rest assured, though our name has changed, the faces and quality of care in our clinics remain the same.

Clinic DirectorDr. K. Taylor Adkins, PT, Cert. DN is a servant leader striving for clinical excellence daily. After completing her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Mercer University, Dr. Adkins began practicing in the outpatient orthopedic setting. She continued her educational endeavors by completing Mercer University’s Residency in Orthopedic Physical Therapy at Human Performance and Rehabilitation Centers (HPRC) in Columbus, Georgia. Upon completion, she entered the role of Clinic Director for HPRC’s Stockbridge location. In orthopedics, Dr. Adkins enjoys treating all musculoskeletal conditions and movement dysfunction, with a particular interest in ankle and foot conditions.
As a student and early in her professional career, Dr. Adkins served the American Physical Therapy Association of Georgia. She has held the role of Student Network President, Secretary and Vice Chair of the Minority Mentoring Focused Interest Network (FIN). As a student, she led the student board to hosting the first Georgia Student Conclave that has continued to this day. Serving as Secretary and Vice Chair of the Minority Mentoring FIN, Dr. Adkins placed an emphasis on inspiring and preparing the next generation of physical therapists. She has served as a mentor and tutor for students enrolled in DPT programs across Georgia. In her spare time, she also maintains a consistent volunteer role with Good Samaritan Health Services to provide diabetic foot care for clients.

DeAndra Shields PT, DPT
Physical TherapistDr. DeAndra Shields earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Georgia State University. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercises Science from the University of Georgia. Upon completing her doctorate, she has developed a passion for treating neurologic conditions, specifically stroke and TBI.
DeAndra enjoys helping patients reengage in meaningful lifestyles without being limited by pain or weakness.
In her free time, she likes trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys participating in dance classes, as she was trained in an array of dance techniques and was a part of the dance team for the University of Georgia Redcoat band.
